Last Day 2011
Well, here is the last day of 2011. It was quite a busy year for me, mostly working (PFI Consulting) but some fun collecting firearms, reloading, and some target shooting; not to mention a new Mac Book Air, and an iPad2, with gobs of accessories to go with them.
I hope to work a lot less and play/travel a lot more in 2012. There are a few things I would like to accomplish in 2012, not resolutions, but goals. Here are some of them, in no particular order:
· Philip’s Great Year (Birding). Earlier this year I chanced to see the movie: The Great Year. I had no idea about this movie when I went to see it; It turned out to be about three individual Birders competing against one another in a “Big Year” birding competition. A “Big Year”, in birding, is for one to sight, and record, as many different bird species in one year as possible. This movie has inspired me to declare, for myself, a Big Year. Just to make it a little more exciting I have challenged my Daughter (Kim) and her husband (Mike) to declare a “Big Year” too! I plan to document my sightings and accumulative count on Facebook throughout the year.
· Get more exercise this year. I plan to walk at least one mile per day, every day, for the year. I will try to increase the distance as I develop more and more stamina.
· Resume posting to my blog spot, , starting Jan, 1, 2012, on a daily basis. I have tried this two or three times in the past and get discouraged due to lack of a readership following. I hope I can inspire some to follow my postings and to interact via replies. I plan to post my Big Year, Reloading/Shooting activities, Travels, Autobiographical Excerpts, and Philosophical comments throughout the year.
· Resume an Autobiographical project I started a few years ago. I was originally inspired by a Journal my Mother wrote some years ago about her childhood and other adventures throughout her life. She did a really good job of it and it was quite inspiring. Recently, I met a gentleman in Peet’s Coffey Shop, here in Klamath Falls, who is a striving author publishing his own work any way he can. We had a great chat, I bought one of his books, an autobiography which I’m now reading; this is now the inspiration for resuming my own work. Here is hoping I can keep motivated and complete it this year. I will try to post excerpts to my blog as it progresses.
· Go 4 Wheeling, (Quad riding), more often this year in the local countryside. We will probably have to wait until April or May to begin, unless this mild winter continues.

I wish everyone a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous, New Year throughout 2012.Philip
