Oh, by the way:
I just finished reading, Computing God, by Robert J Sawyer.
It is a great book and very stimulating and thought provoking.
I recommend it to everyone.

204 RUGER
I just got a 204 Ruger barrel for my Thompson Contender Carbine.
I can't wait to get out to the range and try it out. It will propel a 32 Gr. bullet at 4,100 ft./sec velocity!
Accuracy is touted to be very good for this cartridge.

I Just finished, Flashforward, the novel. Good, similar to Rollback, nothing like the TV series.
There are many thought provoking concepts on human morals, life span, religion, and the path(s) of the future.
I recommend this book highly.

FLASHFORWARD: the novel
I've started Flashforward after finishing Rollback. So far I'm liking Flashforward; the TV series adaptation is somewhat different in plot, and local setting, but the concept is the same, I like both.

4 WHEELING AT THE OREGON DUNES
near Coos Bay/North Bend Oregon last weekend.
Nancy and I, along with John and Char went over to the dunes for a fun vacation for 3 days. We rode at the "Spinreel" campground launch site. It was fun, we had a good time, but we now know we like our own local riding much better than the repetitive up and down what looks like the same dune over and over again. It appears though that a lot of other people have a different opinion, there are a lot of highly specialized machine that fairly fly over those dunes. Our machines, Utility type, were OK, but not with the performance the specialty machines had.
It was great to have tried it, but now I'm sure we will appreciate the great riding we enjoy right here in our own back yard.

Rollback: the novel.
I downloaded it to my Kindle yesterday and I'm about 20% through it. Interesting so far, but I hope it gets more exciting or technical before too much longer!

Robert J Sawyer: Flash Forward.

I have been following the Television series, Flash Forward, all season and find it very interesting and entertaining.
The series is based on Sawyer's book of the same title. The main thrust of the story deals with destiny and free will in relation to one knowing one's future and one's ability to alter it. The unique mechanism of this scenario is that of possible parallel and multiple universes that coexist together, on divergent paths, and possibly intersecting one another for brief periods. There is even mention of a of a very interesting (for myself anyway) concept of: The Garden of Forking Paths (Jorge Luis Borges). I have always been fascinated by this concept.
Rollback, is another of his novels that looks interesting to me too.

If anyone reading this post has anything to offer about this novel or any others of his please offer up an opinion.
